Beirut, March 9, 2013: Mor Yacoub Edward Consecrated as New Archbishop of Patriarchal Vicariate of Guatemala. His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas consecrated Very Rev. Rabban Edward as the Archbishop of Patriarchal Vicariate of Guatemala in the name “
Mar Yacoub” on 06th March 2013 at the Monastery of St Jacob Baradeaus in Atchena, Beirut, Lebanon.
The Syriac Orthodox Church has a fast growing Mission in Guatemala and other parts of South America. There has been large number of converts to different Orthodox Churches/Missions in Latin American region in recent years particularly from the Roman Catholic Church.
